Milan's historic centre is more than the Duomo and the Galleria. A few streets away from the crowds there are old food shops, bakeries and trattorias that locals still use every day.
On this tour we walk from Piazza Cairoli through the centre and stop at the places that keep Milanese food culture alive. We start with coffee and a Milanese pastry, then taste local salumi and cheese, Milanese street food and an authentic risotto alla Milanese with a glass of Italian wine, and we finish with tiramisu.
Between stops we look at the architecture and history of the centre, and at how a city known for fashion and finance kept its own way of eating.
If it is your first time in Milan, this is the tour to start with.
Before you come: come hungry, because there are 5–6 tastings, enough for a big lunch. Wear comfortable shoes; the whole tour is on foot.
